The Orpheus Saxophone Quartet is based out of Morehead State University and consists of all seniors, under the instruction of Dr. Nathan Nabb. The members include Sara Sipes, Will Fergason, Collin Stegeman, and David Houston. The Orpheus Sax Quartet strives to play both standard and contemporary works of music at the highest possible level and constantly pushes the technical and musical boundaries of their individual playing. Performances include those at the MTNA Kentucky Competition, the North American Saxophone Alliance National and Region 7 Conference, and numerous at Morehead State University. The Orpheus Quartet will be competing in the Coleman Chamber Music Competition Finals on April 25th, 2009 in Pasadena, CA and is eagerly awaiting performing in the 15th World Saxophone Congress in Bangkok, Thailand in the summer of 2009.
