Hi, I'm Joe. I was born (Oct.14.1989) and raised in a quiet suburb just outside Toronto, Canada. When I was 6, my parents forced me to learn piano. I hated it; quit classical training when I was 10-11. Was tempted to re-learn it again as I grew up, but only really did it when I really wanted to play various songs that were significant in popular culture. Namely, Layla and various songs by Muse. Nowadays I'm working on my phd in psychology at UWO. I haven't been posting very much recently, and I do feel bad about that. Will try to rectify for 2014. Without a doubt, my two strongest influences are Matt Bellamy (Muse) and Beth Gibbons (Portishead), but I've also been heavily influenced by Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith, and The Darkness. Honourable mention goes to Oasis. While I once declared a love for only classic rock, my taste expanded to contemporary alt. as well. By 2011, I began to embrace 80s and 90s hip hop and by 2013 I began to incorporate electronic too.

Soulslicers is a producers crew composed of 4 beatmakers. These guys love music. They love hip-hop and work as hard as possible to keep it real. Each member has his own characteristics and skills. In the past, some of them played instruments (drums, piano) and others were MCs, but since several years they're all focused on producing beats. As you can check on their individual MySpace, some members of the crew appear regularly on Swiss, French, German and Canadian rap albums for over 10 years. At the beginning of 2010 a big change occurred when they decided to stop following the rule of every man for himself, and started to collaborate to become stronger in this music business. The "Soulslicers" label was born and now the focus is put on producing high quality beats for international MCs.
