Johan studied saxophone at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam. Since the formation in 1982, he is primarius of the world famous Aurelia Saxophone Quartet, for whom he wrote many arrangements and received many prices. In 1988, the Aurelia's won the Edison , a prestigious price for the best CD recording of that year. With the Aurelia Saxophone Quartet, he made 10 CD's. He is also a member of the Netherlands Wind Ensemble(NBE) and a freelance musician with many Dutch Orchestras (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic and others) He is a freelance soloist of chamber music and professor of saxophone. Johan is endorser for Selmer saxophones and Rico Reeds. And he plays on Paraschos wooden necks.

Fondato nel 1990 da Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, Ravenna Festival si è sempre caratterizzato per un programma che include tutti i linguaggi artistici, dalla musica sinfonica a quella da camera, dall’opera al teatro, dalla danza al musical, dal jazz alla musica etnica. Die Liebfrauenkirche ist eine gotische Kirche in der nördlichen Altstadt von Frankfurt am Main und dient heute als Kapuzinerkloster und Kirchort in der Dompfarrei. Durch ihre zentrale Lage inmitten der Frankfurter Innenstadt nahe der Zeil bildet sie mit ihrem öffentlich zugänglichen Klosterhof eine beliebte Oase der Stille im hektischen Stadtzentrum. Kirchenmusiker und Bezirkskantor Peter Reulein entwickelt vielfältige Aktivitäten. Das Vocalensemble Liebfrauen, der junge Chor "Cappuccinis", das Collegium Vocale Liebfrauen, das Collegium Musicum Liebfrauen, die Choralschola und ein Team von 9 Organisten garantieren für ein musikalisch abwechslungsreiches Angebot. Dieser Kanal gibt einen Eindruck der facettenreichen Kirchenmusik in Liebfrauen und wird regelmäßig durch neue Videobeiträge ergänzt.
