Born in WV many moons ago. Inspired by my great uncle Jim who gave me my first guitar at around age 12 and lit a fire that never flickered out. Guitar and singing have been close friends to me ever since. Did the bar band scene for too many years which took it's toll a while back. What's left of me still plays and sings but limits the audience to youtube and instagram these days. Between songs, the wife and I enjoy the warm waters of a pristine fresh water lake for boating and swimming. We also enjoy playing minecraft mining, building, and decorating our creations. It is especially nice when the grandkids drop in for a visit online. Our game is boring to them though since we don't do the monster thing.

My goal is to help guitar players reach the next step in their playing through simple, easily-applied steps and a deeper understanding of how music works. Music theory helps guitar players learn quicker, communicate better, and feel far more confident as a musician. My first musical instrument was piano, and my teacher was very much into the “monkey-see, monkey-do” approach of training my fingers to move in a certain order. I hated it. Years later, when I began learning guitar, my teacher introduced me to the world of music theory, and showed how really cool songs worked using simple theory concepts. Later on, I discovered that unless they had gone to music college, most guitar players never learned the basics of how music works, and I made it my mission to help them.
