“Do not listen to Jean-Luc Fillon and think that he is playing an instrument which is not really used in Jazz. He does not need this kind of “indulgence”. His talent as a composer and improviser means that the instrument is quickly forgotten. From the very first track, we are sure that Jean-Luc Fillon knows what he is talking about and that he masters all the essential aspects of jazz, without mentioning his skillful instrumental technique, which is beyond suspicion. We're brother & sister violinists, both in high school. We are recording sound samples of an amazing collection of fine violins. Each week we open a couple of cases...some of which haven't been opened in decades. The goal is to give an idea of what each violin sounds like. These are not rehearsed videos; we are not bringing these pieces to performance level as we would if we were preparing for a performance. We're doing this to help out the family of the professional violinist who spent their lifetime traveling, performing and collecting violins. This has been a real learning experience for us. We've been privileged to have sampled over 100 violins so far. We hope that you find the comparisons interesting. We do! Please subscribe if you find our channel interesting.
